Bookkeeping is a skill that not all people within an organisation have and the potential for a company to mess it up by giving the job to an inexperienced and untrained staff member is a recipe for disaster and potential fraud. Business owners should manage this better, that’s where qualified bookkeepers are a great resource in the day to day financial management for all SMEs in New Zealand.
If a manger or owner thinks they can’t afford to have skilled people in this position, they should consider the cost of having the wrong person controlling their numbers. IRD Penalties and interest, larger bills from their accountant, employee fraud, being ripped off by suppliers, lost cash flow, leading to nervous break downs and insolvency.
All this grief can be avoided by using a NZBAI qualified bookkeeper, who are worth their weight in gold. Thanks again for the fantastic insight in to Xero, I was surprised how much we covered and the one to one training meant we could concentrate on the areas I wanted to know about given my back ground and experience.
